It is equipped with a 12-inch hydraulic chuck and an 8-station turret, enabling multiple machining operations in a single setup. The CNC vertical turning machine is equipped with heavy-duty roller-type linear guideways on both the X and Z axes and a one-piece bed cast from high-quality HT300 gray cast iron. This structure provides higher rigidity and load-bearing capacity than the welded steel-frame designs commonly used in light-duty vertical lathes.
The machine features an 8-station turret that accommodates a range of cutting tools, including roughing and finishing tools, parting tools, and internal boring bars. It uses servo-controlled indexing with hydraulic locking to ensure smooth and accurate positioning. ◆ Machining Travel and Capacity
The machine provides an effective X-axis travel of 400 mm and a Z-axis travel of 500 mm. It offers a maximum swing diameter of Φ600 mm, a maximum cutting diameter of Φ400 mm, and a maximum turning height of 500 mm.
For workpieces such as flanges, bearing housings, wind turbine end caps, and brake discs with outer diameters of up to 400 mm and heights of up to 500 mm, the machine can complete outer diameter turning, facing, and internal boring operations in a single setup, eliminating the need for re-clamping.
◆ Spindle Power and Operational Performance
The spindle pulley is connected to the CNC servo motor pulley via a drive belt. The axial and radial preload of the spindle system can be adjusted using a single nut, providing high rigidity in both radial and axial directions.
The spindle is driven by a 15 kW servo motor with stepless speed control in the range of 100 to 1,000 rpm. This wide speed range supports both low-speed heavy-duty cutting of materials such as stainless steel and alloy steel, as well as high-speed precision turning of aluminum and copper components.
◆ Guideway and Load-Bearing Structure
The X and Z axes are driven by servo feed motors directly connected to the ball screws via elastic couplings, with the ball screws mounted in a fixed–fixed configuration. Both axes use cylindrical roller guideways from Taiwan with an equal-load design in all four directions.
The X-axis is equipped with two 35 mm-wide roller linear guideways, while the Z-axis uses two 45 mm-wide roller linear guideways. These heavy-duty wide guideways help maintain rigidity and reduce wear during prolonged heavy cutting operations, thereby extending the service life of the machine.
◆ Turret and Machine Specifications
This machine comes standard with an 8-station horizontal tool turret from Taiwan that holds eight cutting tools in a single setup, enabling fast automatic tool changes for operations such as external turning, internal boring, parting-off, and chamfering.
The turret uses servo-controlled indexing and hydraulic locking to ensure smooth and precise positioning, making it suitable for machining automotive components. Vertical or live-tool turret configurations are also available to meet specific machining requirements.
