CNC lathes can be divided into flat-bed CNC lathes and inclined-bed CNC lathes. This is common knowledge known to everyone in the mechanical processing industry. So what is the difference between flat-bed CNC lathes and inclined-bed CNC lathes?
First, let's introduce flat-bed CNC lathes. Flat-bed CNC lathes appeared relatively early. After the appearance of ordinary lathes, with the advent of CNC computers, they were gradually applied to the machine tool industry, so flat-bed CNC lathes were born. Flat-bed CNC lathes are basically hard rails, suitable for turning some slightly heavy workpieces, and inclined-bed CNC lathes are basically linear rails, suitable for turning some slightly light workpieces, and the precision of inclined-bed CNC lathes is generally higher than that of flat-bed CNC lathes.
Then from the perspective of machine tool layout, the guide rails of flat-bed CNC lathes are parallel to the ground, and inclined-bed CNC lathes have an inclination angle. The general inclined rail angles are 30°, 45°, 60°, and 75°.
Finally, the CNC inclined bed CNC lathe plus power milling head is a turning and milling compound CNC machine tool, which can both turn and mill workpieces. Some workpiece processing procedures require both turning and milling, and turning and milling are very convenient.
